Josh’s Ultra 1k – Philbrick - Cricenti Bog Trail, New London
Head over to the Philbrick - Cricenti Bog Trail, located just off Route 11 in New London, across from the Great Pines development. This route begins at the parking area on the side of the road, heading out into the bog you have two different loops to complete, each one offering a unique view of all the bog's scenery. Known for its fantastic wildlife and incredible floral display, you can download from the conservation commission website a seasonal list of bog flowers to look for as you stroll through the trails. Enjoy the peace and tranquility in one of New London's staple trail systems. Check out Josh's Course Map here.
Brandy’s Ultra 1k – Corbin Bridge 1k, Newport
Brandy's route is not necessarily a certified trail, however, it takes you to the beautiful and iconic Corbin Bridge in North Newport! Start at the Haselvlat's Park and walk to Corbin Bridge where you will enjoy all the beauty that surrounds it. The Sugar River runs beneath the covered bridge and is adjacent with Parlin Field, where you can take a picnic with you and maybe watch a plane land. There are only 60 covered bridges in New Hampshire and Newport is lucky enough to have three! Originally built in the 1840s, the bridge was sadly burned and rebuilt once again in 1994. If you want to go even further than a 1k, continue your walk through North Newport where there are a lot of old homes to see, including the old "Ruger home" just past the covered bridge on the right. Check out Brandy's Course Map here.
Jason's Ultra 1k – Sunapee Harbor
Jason's Ultra route is just over 1k, but you won't even notice because you'll be distracted by scenic Sunapee Harbor! Start out on High Street and head to Main Street. Take a right (through the farmers market dirt parking lot), and head across the beautiful Sugar River Covered Bridge. Turn left onto River Road, and then take another left into the Prospect Hill Parking lot. Take the board walk back across the Sugar River and you'll pop out by the Quack Shack. Head to Main Street and walk a short distance before turning left into the Public Boat Launch parking lot. Do a quick loop around the lot and then head back to Main Street. Cross over to River Road (Stacey's Smoothies will be on your left) and follow River Road back to your starting location! Check out Jason's Course Map here.
Dan and Christina’s Ultra 1k – The Original Course!
The original Ultra racecourse is still available! This loop course starts and finishes at O’Halloran Group, Keller Williams Lakes & Mountains Realty on Main Street in New London. Extra points for a photo finish by the O’Halloran Group sign! Check out Dan and Christina's course map here.
