Towns: New London, Sutton
This is an easy scenic ride with some elevation gain on a combination of paved and very well-maintained gravel roads. Starting at the Flying Goose, turn right onto Route 11 and head east for 1 mile. Take a right onto Shaker Road (a residential through-road that takes you into Sutton, NH) about 4 miles. Take a right onto Gile Pond Road where you’ll get to see the pond before taking another right hand-turn onto NH Rt. 114. From here, enjoy the smooth pavement while passing by wetlands with beautiful wildflowers. In just over a mile you come into North Sutton. From here take a left onto Keyser St. and head clockwise around Kezar Lake where you’ll get to enjoy lake views for the majority of the ride. (Note this is where you’ll pick up the gravel road, but it’s extremely well-maintained and easy to ride on). After completing a loop around the lake, take a left back onto NH Rt. 114 and begin the ride back to the Flying Goose (just under 3 miles). Make sure to reward yourself with one of the Goose's mirco brews or their homemade root beer.
Variation: Looking to add elevation? Before making a complete loop around the lake, take an out-and-back detour to Muster Field Farm via Harvey Road. In about a half-mile you’ll add 137’ of climbing. At the top of the hill you’ll be rewarded with the beautiful grounds of historic Muster Field Farm.
