Not for the faint of heart, this ride is a true test to your fitness. The reward however is fantastic. This ride is full of stunning views overlooking Pleasant Lake, Little Lake Sunapee and Lake Sunapee. Water views are not the only benefit, we have you climbing up Burkehaven Hill in Sunapee Harbor which has a phenomenal view of Mount Sunapee and distant mountains, the half mile climb brings you to these vistas with a max grade of 11.8% and 207ft of climbing. Enjoy a nice winding decent and a causal down rolling ride along the shores of Lake Sunapee back to the Harbor. Hill #2 takes you 2.5 miles up to the summit of Blye Hill in the High Meadow subdivision with 725ft of climb and a max grade of 10.1%. Freshly paved a couple years ago, coming back down High Meadow Road will be a blast. Once back onto Route 103A, continue the rolling climb towards New London. Bear right onto King Hill Road heading toward I-89. Just over 2 miles later, you will turn Right onto Summit Road. This will take you to the summit of the old King Ridge Ski area. Max grade is 9% and in 1 mile of climbing you will gain 283ft of elevation. From the summit you will enjoy views towards Mount Kearsarge, Ragged Mountain and the White Mountains. Enjoy the speedy decent and knowing that you are only 4.5 miles away from the finish.
