A picture perfect New England setting awaits you at Pleasant Lake in New London. This 600+ acre lake offers the ideal spot for boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming (sorry, no jet skis allowed!). There is a public boat launch near the Pleasant Lake Dam and Elkins Beach is available to town residents and guests. (Check out our State Parks and Town Beaches page for more information.)
If exploring by land during the month of June, make sure to take some time and visit the Spring Ledge Farm strawberry fields. These pick-your-own fields are loaded with some of the best strawberries we’ve found in New Hampshire. Also worth checking out is the Pleasant Lake High Trial which will lead you to some great views of Mount Kearsarge.
If you’re visiting the area and looking for a place to stay around the lake, inquire at the Inn at Pleasant Lake for a truly special stay! Stepped in history, this bed and breakfast has been an unforgettable New Hampshire destination for over 150 years and features a world-class dining experience at their restaurant, Oak & Grain.
