Located in Sutton, Kezar Lake is just over 180 acres and sits at an elevation of 915 feet. Set on the shores of the lake is Wadleigh State Park and Horse Beach. There is a public boat ramp near the beach and a small parking area across the road.
The loop around the lake is almost a perfect 3.1 miles with a mix of pavement and packed gravel roads making for an excellent walking, running or cycling outing. You’ll see beautiful wetlands, wildlife and views of Mount Kearsarge along the way.
Another point of interest to explore is the historic Muster Field Farm. With beautiful flower fields and vegetable gardens, this working farm is the perfect spot to lay down a picnic blanket. If you’re interested in learning more about local history, take the self guided tour (docent led tours available July through harvest season on Sundays) of the Matthew Harvey Homestead which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Also check their events calendar for live music and events throughout the year.
